Hell, if my local Honda dealer wasn't a jerk I would be cruising a VTX 1300. He jacked me around then I saw the Triumph

If you want an American V-Twin cruiser you can't go wrong with an HD.

Like there's a choice. Wait, is Victory still in business?

Two fella's I work with ride HDs (on Friday's weather permitting) and they love'em.

Love is blind (deaf, dumb and in the case of Harley's, flat broke, too).

Most of the local motorcyclist I know own Harleys (although that is slowly changing) and the only ones who don't keep putting gobs of money in them to fix things don't ride very much. And yes, they all love them.

YOU CAN'T CHOP OR BOB A hARLEY??? What?? Are you living in a vacuum or haven't you opened a motorcycle magazine for a while? There are definately more Harley choppers and bobbers out there than all the other brands put together. Wow..

Springer Classic is the sharpest Hawg around. Been toying with the idea of a H-D myself, amongst other machines, but nothing yet has jumped up and said, "buy me" Best of luck with your new ride.

I used to have a handle on life, but it broke .

Thank goodness Harley doesn't depreciate at the rate of Triumph or Honda Davidson. That would be a ton of cash! At their current "hold the value" status you loose about 5 grand on an 88 CID machine in 36 months from what I see in the clasified adds. Thats about 75% of a Triumphs full value or a depreciation rate around $150.00 a month if you ride it or park it. Miles doesn't seem to matter cause its off warranty in 12 months anyhow.

I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

You should have kept them both. Harley didn't give my buddy squat for his TBA and charged a bloody fortune for his "new" V-Twin. I bought the other V-Twin, a Moto Guzzi and my TBA is parked right next to it. Can't see giving up my little Triumph when it's served me so well over so many miles. It just wouldn't be right.

"They'll have to pry my cold dead hands" off the handlebars o' my Bonnie America, BOY!!!

I have an 02 BA which I dearly love. However, dealer is 31/2 hours away. To take it to shop, return home, go back an pick it up is 14 hours.
So I went out last Thursday an bought an 02 Harley Low Rider which I had been trying to buy for one month.
I love both bikes but I can get service local on the Harley. I am not going to sell my BA. It is loaded with chrome,Bub Pipes, etc. Owner of Harley had $21,000 invested in it an I bought it for $13,500. I was offered $15,000 for it yesterday. It is a beautiful bike. $4,100 of chrome !!!!!
No one in my area wants a Triumph because we do not have local dealer. We have Harley,Honda,Kal., Yamaha, Victory, etc. you name it but no Triumph.
We have one of the largest bike weeks twice a year here with approx. 350,000 motorcycles an you think there would be a Triumph dealer located in the immediate area.
Maybe someday !!!!!

USN & Stash - Enjoy your new rides.

I love my Trumpet, but IMO Harleys are also great bikes.

I wish you both the same experience I had with mine (FXRS) many years and many miles of great times!

So, what about handling? The HD is not going to handle like your Speedy did. What good is more power if you have to roll off the gas for every curve?

if life gives you lemons keep them because hey, free lemons.

For being more than 200 lbs heavier than a S.M. It handles great and is a very stable platform. Most of my riding is done on the highway at 70 to 75 mph and it's got power to spare, no dig on Triumph intended - just suited my needs better.

This is what cracks me up the most about Harley guys who talk about resale value. You have to spend $1,000's to get the thing to run decently or look like you want so you end up losing equal to or more than the MSRP of the BA. What is the point???????????????
