This is a minor issue, but it bugs me. 2004 America. I noticed a tapping/knocking from the front end when I hit a bump, and on inspection, I found that the front mudguard was loose and had lost a bolt. Right front bolt that attaches the mudguard bracket to the right front fork outer tube. On checking the part on BikeBandit, they also show a little double-L bracket in that bolt position. I ordered the bolt and the bracket and I have it in hand and now I can see that there's a threaded nut on one end of the bracket. But I can't for the life of me figure out why the bracket is there, or what screws into the threaded nut end. There's nothing else near that bolt or bracket for it to restrain or be attached to. So for now, I have installed only the bolt and left the bracket off.
The bracket is designated "Bracket, Clip BG", P/N:T2070854.
Can one of you guys look on your bike and tell me what that double-L bracket is for, if anything? I get the impression it may be for a cable restraint, but there are no cables on that side of the wheel. Maybe it's for an option that I don't have?
I'll insert a quick screen shot from the parts screen. The double-L bracket is part #5. Any insight into whether I really need to install this bracket would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am indeed a complete newb, and I'm not sure why my image isn't displaying above. Any tips on that?

Isn't the "L" clip what lands the brakeline clamp before marrying up to the caliper?

Yes!
It's there to hold your brake line in place.

DollarBill: Thanks... I just cut and pasted that link from Photobucket, didn't realize that I needed to edit that last html off of it.
Ryk and Zmilin: The bolt (and presumably original clip) that is missing is on the front right. The brake caliper line comes down by the rear left of the wheel. The drawing agrees with that because (not shown on my excerpt) there's a hole in the mudguard where the speedometer line clip goes, that orients front-back on the mudguard drawing. But even if I messed up and that clip really does go on the left rear bolt, I couldn't bend the caliper line enough to get it near that clip. It's about 2-3 inches away from it, if I really strain the line. Also, for that clip to have gone missing from the left rear bolt, it would have to have fallen off, and someone put that bolt back in (could have been done by a former owner, I guess). But it's a mighty strange coincidence that the front right bolt (and it's clip) is the bolt that was missing while the left rear bolt was secure but no L-bracket was there.
Here's a possibility... that L-bracket does indeed go on the rear left, with the threaded nut sticking out towards the brake line and there's another missing part (which I can't find in any drawings) that screws into the threaded bolt and has a long arm that reaches over 2-3 inches to secure the caliper line. But looking at my caliper line right now, it doesn't look like it needs any more security. It's pretty well secure.
But that's still a better explanation than the L-bracket with the threaded nut going on the front right where it has even less functionality, as far as I can see.
Does anybody see that double-L bracket part #5 (drawing above) on their bike and can you tell me what it does? And if it's front right or rear left of the mudguard?
