This is a minor issue, but it bugs me. 2004 America. I noticed a tapping/knocking from the front end when I hit a bump, and on inspection, I found that the front mudguard was loose and had lost a bolt. Right front bolt that attaches the mudguard bracket to the right front fork outer tube. On checking the part on BikeBandit, they also show a little double-L bracket in that bolt position. I ordered the bolt and the bracket and I have it in hand and now I can see that there's a threaded nut on one end of the bracket. But I can't for the life of me figure out why the bracket is there, or what screws into the threaded nut end. There's nothing else near that bolt or bracket for it to restrain or be attached to. So for now, I have installed only the bolt and left the bracket off.

The bracket is designated "Bracket, Clip BG", P/N:T2070854.

Can one of you guys look on your bike and tell me what that double-L bracket is for, if anything? I get the impression it may be for a cable restraint, but there are no cables on that side of the wheel. Maybe it's for an option that I don't have?

I'll insert a quick screen shot from the parts screen. The double-L bracket is part #5. Any insight into whether I really need to install this bracket would be appreciated. Thanks.
