Arkansas has a number of world class BBQ places. McClards and Stubbies in Hot Springs, Craigs in DeValls Bluff, Big Johnsons in Wynne. These are all old style single store places with "CHaracter". Craigs character is a very rough looking building but very good BBQ that has a different sauce from any I have ever tried.
Whole Hog Cafe has become a chain in the last few years and is the result of BBQ competition by a consistent winner and is my current favorite since it is the only one I can access without a three plus hour drive. There are other very good places but these are the ones that stand out in my lifetime of BBQ hunting. If you are visiting or just passing through you should check them out.
