Hi everyone Pretty new to motorcycles and triumph's. Last fall I bought a 2013 thunderbird Storm, about a month or two ago my wife bought a 2010 America. Today I picked up a rolling chassis from a 2007 speedmaster, my plan is to turn it into a chopper, stripped down to the bare essentials, stretched front, lowered back. I would like to put a springer front end on it, so I am here to read and learn from all of you on how this can be done. As a note of interest I was an automotive mechanic in my younger years but have been a carpenter for almost 20 years now, so I am not an idiot when it comes to mechanics but I have alot to learn about motorcycles and especially a project like this. I have no end date for this, I really have no start date either, it will happen over time when opportunity presents itself, had no plan on buying a frame anytime soon but this kind of fell into my lap so I went for it. thanks SaltyDog

Welcome Randy. I've got a friend who wants to do something similar so I'll be watching with interest.

The steering head on the frame is taller than HD so have to either make a custom front end or change the one on there. Since you are stretching the frame I would just weld one on to accept the HD front ends to give you a variety of choices.

Thanks for the kind welcome, let's see if I can up load a pic for you guys, I really have nothing to show of the project and I am sure it will be a very long time before I do.
I guess I will have to photo bucket pics I cant seem to direct upload. Will get you guys pics soon. As an off note is this forum supported by any apps? I am usually on my phone or on my tablet so I find apps easier. Randy

No app but I find this site works well on my iPad. Not so great on the iPhone... just too small.
Btw... are you aware of the Triumph rally in Nelson?
