Hey all,

Just spent about half an hour digging through the pic files and didn't see anyone who had done this. I'm not done yet but figured I'd try and save some time.

Has anyone installed both the seat rail and pillion pad? Does it fit? How does it look? I never ride 2 up because Jenny's got her own scoot but I like the way the bike looks with the rear seat. Think it would look tuff if I could get the seat rail in there too. Thanks for the help.

The Triumph accessories catalog says they will not fit together. But if some has done it I would like to know also.

Hey BB,

It's been done by someone here. Just can't think who.

If I remember correctly, they had to cut the center mount point away and put some rubber/plastic covers on the cut ends because they could not mount it on the seat bolt with the pillion in place.

Looked very cool...

The member on the old board who did it was Godspeed. I just checked the photo section and it looks like he has not set up anything yet on the new board.

Aside from the center mount, I think you would have to dig out the pilion seat some too to clear it. You an un-staple the covering, carve it up, then re-staple it back down I'm sure.

Benny,

No you wouldn't have to do that. As Phil said the only thing needed to be removed would be the centre post and the portion of the lower rail where the pillion pad would sit. I remember the photo and there were some black plugs at the ends of the rail to protect the pad from any rough edges.

Really? I always thought that the pillion sat so tight against the rider's seat it would never leave room for the rail... Then again, never seen one up close.

It doesn't leave any room. If you look at the seat rail it's actually two rails (one above the other) running around the seat with a tab in the centre to bolt it down to the rear fender in the same spot the solo seat is bolted down. The upper rail runs high enough around the seat that you don't have to touch it at all. The lower rail would run right into the pillion pad, that area is where you would have to remove the rail to have both in place.

I imagine cutting that out and removing the centre tab for the bolt would make the rail easy to grab and pull up because of it being attached only on the sides.

See I thought so! Either cut out the seat or the rail...

Hey Everyone...
Thanks for the input. I read the part where it says they won't go together right after I posted here. But good idea to post anyway because, as it turns out I see..the answer is "yes" if you fiddle with it enough. Love you guys...thanks
