Trying to find some good overpants. What I need is just something that I can easily put on and take off for my rides to work (I have to wear dockers and nice shirt to work). I want to find something not bulky, but safe.

Yesterday, I tried on a pair of the Triumph Explorer pants but they seemd very bulky to me. The thigh pads seemed very uncomfortable.

Besides chaps, any other suggestions?

I wear dockers and a polo everyday to work (keep a coat and tie at work just in case). Looking for the same thing, I ended up getting a pair of Arlen Ness pants from Competition Accessories. I wanted something that would keep my pants clean. They work, but I'd recommend something similar, not these. They have full length leg zippers that make getting in and out easy. The thigh and knee pads are removeable (but are not CE). Are waterproof in a 30 minute downpour, but not a 2 hour driving storm. They sound good, and they're marked down to 99.99 from 139, but I've had to replace every zipper which just about doubled the cost. You get what you pay for.
Aerostich Dariens are suppose to be the absolute best riding clothes you can buy, and you'll rarely see a beemer GS driver in anything other than Aerostich, but for the price, I'll buy a nice pair of riding pants and a set of tires!

I have been wearing rain gear, but when it isnt raining, I kind of feel geeky. Not to mention, rain gear doesnt really provide any protection and has a habit of melting on my pipes when I am not paying attention.

I just got a pair of Fieldsheer Booster pants. I like the way they fit, can't say about riding with them though because I haven't had a need to wear them yet. From the picture, they look pretty close to the Arlen Ness pants that JJ mentioned. They have the removable liner and CE armor. Full length zippers also. I found them cheap ($109.99) at http://www.motoxoutlet.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1165

Hey, P-Man... what can you tell me about sizing on the Fieldsheer pants? I have a 35 waist and the AN pants that I originally got were size large and I had to send them back for XL because I couldn't get in the L. Fieldsheer is a very good name and for the price I'll get a pair.
Thanks man!
