Ok so i bought a set of the Rivco mirror LED set up for my bike, nice mirrors by the way. I have ditched the OEM ones on the front, i added light bar , just to busy up front. So now of course i have the "flashing fast" syndrom on all lights (rear are still oem) but they are working none the less. Does this "fast flash" wreck anything in terms of the current relays on the bike? should i just get a modulator for the front ones or one for all of them and replace the rear bulbs with LED (but into oem socket), i am loooking for simple stupid, i don't know much about this LED stuff.
thanks.

Change out the flasher....$12.95 from Superbrightleds.com, part Number CF13GL-02..takes 30secs if you are lucky and can do it without removing the tank. Maybe worth getting a new flasher gromit from Triumph (1396235 - the rubber band that holds the flasher to the frame) as they perish after a couple of years and likely to snap when you slide out the old flasher

thanks, is this not something i can just go to a auto shop place or something and buy local?
In ther interim, the lights flashing quickly is not burning anything up anywhere?

You can just add a resistor to the line too.

I seem to remember others have posted that they managed to get replacements in local auto-parts stores, but I just ran around for a few days with the flashing fast with no issues. Which I guess answers your second question to some extent, but logically the only thing that could get damaged is the flasher which you are replacing anyway.

Fingers crossed! Both my current 2003 and 2005, and a previous 2003 BA had the three prong type so you should be OK. I did try one other flasher (from Fast Eddy, when he was first trying to find a supplier) that didn't work....so it is a small gamble.

I just finished the conversion to LED turn/run and brake lights on my bobber project. I bought an LED flasher relay for $20 from LED customs that plugged into the stock base on the bike. I added a resistor (5 ohm?, have to verify that) to the output side of the flasher relay. I played with a number of resistance configurations using the OEM flasher and did not get the desired flash rate, plus there was ghosting to the other light (unacceptable).

the 3 prong has an extra ground, a 2 will work as well.
out of the 3 wires coming into the flasher base, one is ground, one is always hot (when the key is 'on') and the 3rd goes to the switch on the handle bar.

just an update, got a flasher from Marty that he had, same one Fast eddy sells as a kit and it works both OEM and LED bulbs, just plug and play, so they can all be led, all oem or a combination.

Hey just want to throught this out for a sanity check. I replaced the rear signals on by BA and got the quick flash syndrome. I ordered this: Whole system LED Resistor: 2106-0052 from Fast Eddy My issue is that I replaced the resistor and it seems to work fine. I have not fully connected the signals in the rear but just holding the connectors together they seem to work fine. Whatis all the other wiring for? Am I missing something?

This post makes more sense than the PM... you may not see a difference until you have both signals installed. Complete your signal installation then you may need the wiring adapter.

OK.... you don't need those wires. They are part of the kit from K&S (manufacturer of relay/flasher). That kit is all over the internet. All you need is the flasher and its plug and play.

Would someone be kind enough to walk an electrical novice through this "plug and play" exercise.
I looked under the tank and turned on the signal lites and found by the vibration/clicking what I take to be the stock flasher under the tank.
It has a number of wires coming out if it.
So am I to tug on that and pull it off and simply put the new circular flasher onto what I assume is a 3 prong plug? What happens the the original with the wires in it? Just leave it there? Where does the rubber protector go?
Man it's embarrassing when my eyes glaze over when I see anything to do with electrical.
Mine is a 2011 Speedmaster with the newly purchased Fast Eddy K&S kit. I recently replaced the rear turn signals with LEDs.
Thanks for the help.

Thanks Wade.
Yeah I get what plug and play means. My questions were about if what I was looking at was really the flasher. Left side gizmo under the right side of the tank, with a few wires coming out. And if pulling that off, is that really the flasher. And if it is what do you do with it. I've looked at different forums and nobody really gives a dummies guide to flasher replacement.
Any car ones I've seen looked like the replacement one, you just yank it out and put in the new one. No attached wires. Just the pronged plug.
So I don't really want to start yanking on electrical connections if they are not the correct ones.
Thanks

Hey Michael, the two gizmos. (sounds like a story) The Two Gizmos. Once there was a gizmo, the one on the right is the headlight cutout relay, the one on the left is the turn signal relay. Now is the relay the same as a flasher? Well, not exactly. Hang on and let me look on Lola, I have the tank off so I can dig into it for ya.
