So I decided to give the "McCuff" a try. If you haven't seen this before, it's a sleeve you put on to the nozzle of the pump so that once you put the nozzle in the tank it pushes the vapor recovery boot that they have on so many of the pumps nowadays back far enough so you can fill your tank without a mess.
For the pump I used it on today it did not work - the nozzle still hit that wire or bar at the top of the tank. The McCuff was not long enough to allow the pump to not hit that wire/bar and push the boot back far enough to clear the holes on the nozzle so it would fill. So, I had to assist it with my hand to push the McCuff up further. However, it did allow me to get a good fill on the tank which was nice.
Now, maybe another style of pump will work fine, but it does say that it works on all pumps - that isn't the case with the Triumphs.
I am thinking of using a gasket of some sort to add to the end of the McCuff to give it more length, which may work.
Just an FYI, in case you were thinking of getting one of these.
