I'd like to give a more "classic" cruiser look to my Black and Silver '02 BA by the addition of White Wall Tyres. Anybody found white walls in BA/SM rim sizes? (15" and 18")

Michael! I've got the Dunlop WW. Same size for the rear, but 120/90-18 in front. Maxxis also have whitewalls - same sizes. Since the front tire is higher you have to raise the fender a bit including modifying the fender bracket = cut off the middle section. No big deal.

When I clicked on this thread, I really didn't think that whitewalls on a bike would look too good. But, I was wrong!
Piper, you rig looks very, very nice.

Thanks for the kind words! Beside the looks, these Dunlops are about 1000 percent better than the Bridgestones.

Yeah, it does look nice. I've seen the white-walls on a few black Americas and they looked great. I was surprised to see they look just as nice on your red one. Are they hard to keep clean???

Well, not really. You just have to be prepared to do it once in a while. The best The best way I've found so far is to use two kinds of degreasers. First one strong to clean the tire, then a "greener" microdegreaser to get rid of the first one. Did that make sence?

Keith,

I use a spray called Westley’s Blech-Wite. Works really great. Spray it on, wait a few minutes and wipe with a wet sponge. Cleans up the tires really well. Also, Kasey (foolish) who had a blue TBA put white walls on his bike. It also looked really well. He had the bike painted but the white walls still look great on his bike. I’ve got a shot of it in my gallery.

Very nice bike. I have a red/silver one as well. Will be putting w/w tires on mine. Do you have a close up of the the front fender mod or can you describe what you had to do in a bit more detail. Thanks

Thanks! The OEM front tire is 110/80-18 and the Dunlop (and even Maxxis) is 120/90-18. Since the tire is "higher" there is not much free space between it and the fender bracket.. It spins OK by hand, but the centrifugal force (sp) when driving makes it rub. I believe it was member Fred who first found out that by cutting off the center portion of the fender bracket the rubbing would stop. I did that, and I also took my Dremel and made the fender mounting holes oval, lifted it and gained another few millimetres.
Hope this helps!
