Once you ride a motorcycle with a fairing, it's hard to go back. Just sayin'...

I kind of agree with you. Having just come back from a bagger (2010 Road Glide Custom), to my Speedmaster, while there are pluses to having a fairing, I had a tough time trying to combat the buffeting that comes with the fairings. It can be resolved, but it often takes a lot of trial and error (and $$$) with shields, lowers, and other sundry wind deflectors. It's been nice just having clean air, although I may get a windshield for when it rains around here.

you can get buffeting with any thing...fairing,windshields and even helmets...so saying you only get with a fairing

Agree with you Ed - didn't mean to imply that buffeting can come only from fairings. But the RG was a tough nut to tame as far as that was concerned.

Got to get my pic up here later, but i really like riding without the shield but only in the city and short rides, otherwise on the highway i just get tired of hanging on so darn much half the time, the noise, rain, rocks, bugs and what have you....maybe i am just getting soft LOL

Haha, yeah, it was pretty big from that angle LOL! It is an old box, and I put in quite a number of hours fixing it. Here's a shot from the side:

That is a very pretty machine. I do like a silver motorcycle and that is the perfect shade of silver.

I guess it depends on how you use the bike. I regularly go 500+ miles a day and a windshield makes that a LOT more pleasant. I often take the bike rather than the car to work and having storage space makes that practical. If I want to strip it down for a more local ride it takes about five minutes. Having those options is why I usually put more miles on the BA each year than the car, even living in Iowa.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
