Rode down Auraria Rd. Sun. Night and as usual the headlight sucked, looked like a kerosene lamp tied on like Marlon Brando's trophy. So, I finally installed the Cree H4 LED lamp (80.00) and man, I'm amazed at the difference. Brilliant white light , the low beam seems to be the lead shine and the high beam, instead of shining farther past the low beam acts like a pair of driving lights sorta splayed out to the sides. Interesting pattern. Just a review, money WELL spent! (And I still have the Kuryakyn Silver Bullet spots to install, 75 watt equiv. LED)

Thanks Wade. Just bought a pair for $44 each. "Specify right or left photon emission stream. " I was serious about the left hand drive because I thought it may have included the bucket lens.

I jus love to ride around now at nite and shine up all the deer and coons in trees. Not deer in trees, they is in the ditch, the coons is in the trees.
Current draw is a heep less, this should help my chronic starting issues. I gets tard of rollin Lola off down hills.
Fogleman, where did you get them that cheap ?

Unscrew two Phillips screws on headlight ring, pop off cover, plug in new lamp, snap cover back on, replace screws, go play.
So yes, it's plug and play.

Wade do you know if it can be used with a Kissan modulater?
Our coons tend to stick to the ground around here but I'm sure they'd light up just fine.

I have the Kissan modulater (with my halogen bulb) and my Cree LED headlights just arrived today. I'll fit the LED bulbs this weekend and let you know what happens.

Well, your best answer may come from Foglefar Down Under, he's gonna have some real life testing. I don't suppose there would be issues with an LED making intermittent flashes. Filaments on the other hand suffer from off/on cycles.
Maybe when the snow melts your coons won't be stuck to the ground. Poor coons.

That will be good to know plus how much more visibility during day of bike and at night of the road and any varmits hanging out in the trees.

After pasting your link into eBay many results were returned. It appears that the Cree lamp comes with an external power adapter, is this the same as the item you used? If so, where did you fit the extra piece?
And, did it come with bubble wrap?

Dear Ed,
Yes, it doth come with the external power adapter, cool little fan, and a wire that snaps into the 3 prong plug. All of this contraption fit nicely in the headlight bucket. And no, it did not come with bubble wrap. It was packed in foam. I was so dejected. But I got me a Greek Fisherman's hat off EBay and it had some really crispysnappin' bubble wrap from Greece. So I am now a Greco-Anglo snapper.
Sincerely , Wade
Mebbe I post some pics of me in my Greek hat poppin away.

Thanks buddy. I'll have to open the wee bucket on the Scram and see if it's crowded in there.

Installed the Cree LED bulb. Much brighter as seen in the pics below. It does not appear to have as defined pattern as the xenon but that may be because it's much brighter and the wall was only 12 feet away. Edit: the iPhone camera has automatically overexposed the top photo compared to the bottom two photos. This is because the bottom two were actually much brighter than represented here. The under exposing of the bottom two photos can be seen in the blue speedo illumination (brighter in the top pic) and the daylight illuminated door (also brighter in the top pic). This means the Cree led bulb is much brighter than shown in the photos. xenon bulb - engine running - low beam Cree LED bulb - engine running - low beam Cree LED bulb - engine off - high beam. At the distance of 12 feet there doesn't appear to be significant difference between high and low beam. The halogen bulb version of the Kisan PathBlazer P115w-s DOES WORK correctly with the Cree LED bulb. You won't need the PathBlazer P115w-LED version.

everything i'm seeing includes a ballast. do you guys have ballasts on yours? because that's a pain in the ass. i did that with HID on my sv650 and if i ever sell it i'll have to rip that junk out. i'd also like to get a set for my mom's car and don't wanna mess with ballasts there even more.

The red gauge Belorussian (edit: should say "below" ... dam predictive text) the speedo is a voltmeter (Datel) and the one to the right of the speedo is a/f.

It's confirmed again .... I AM AN IDIOT,
The standard Kisan PathBlazer P115w-s DOES WORK with the Cree LED bulb. I forgot about the automatic light sensor which deactivates the modulator when it's dark. DUH! I had the garage door closed to test the new bulb. I will edit my post above (where I originally said it didn't work) to correct this.

Cree has foglights, lowbeams rim lights for the headlight in multi coulours. Probably ground effects next and all at low voltage.

Yes, confirmed, they are the same as the single motorcycle bulb offered by the same seller. Cheaper buying the pair.

For us in the colder countries I see a huge benefit of all the extra juice left over to run heated vests for example without having to replace a generator and still be very visable.

It just occurred to me that my photos above are not comparing apples with apples. The iPhone I took the photos with has automatically compensated the exposures which gives a misleading result.
The top photo with the xenon bulb is over-exposed while the bottom photo with the Cree LED is under-exposed. This can be seen in the blue speedo illumination (lighter in the top photo) and in the daylight illuminated door in the top photo is also lighter than the photo below.
This means that the Cree LED bulb is much brighter than it shows in the photo.

So does the ballast fit in the bucket or did you locate it under the tank?

Well sit back and let me tell you a tale. One of a very bright headlight that is still awesome. The young man, in his quest to illuminate the dismal nocturne availed hisself of a pair of LED driving lights, only to realize that the magnitude of the LED headlight far outshoned the little driving lights , to which he thought, " bummer ". The headlight cast a pristine white beam out to the sides, virtually eliminating the need for any other lights.
This is a nice light. It's sorta like the one that you see in the tunnel when you is 'bout to check outta this here world. It's sorta scary now drivin' in town tryin' to dodge all the folks runnin' onto the light, so' I jest stay home sometimes at night to save them folk.
Well, you brung this up and I got nothin to do but eat hydrocodon and prop up this busted ankle ! Thank you for listnin to my story !

This picture was taken last week at the 2014 Midwest rally by Margaret Millspaw. That is me at the back of the pack. I have the Truck-Lite LED headlight and two LED driving lights. As you can see, it's hard to not see the bike coming. The headlight gives you good visibility out about a quarter mile and signs reflect at over two miles. The driving lights are from Custom Dynamics and a buddy of mine sells the headlight for about 200 bucks. It is also available from Kuryakyn on their website for more. The driving lights fit into the Triumph lightbar buckets and the headlight goes into our headlight bucket.

I have one on my bike, and it still love it. Much brighter than stock filament. Got me in trouble at the yearly inspection, the guy thought the light was actually too bright! I weaselled my way out saying it was just the color of the light and it wasn't that bright...

Cheaper too, (I think) . I have maybe 55.00 USD in my headlamp. And it draws way less amperiums. It attracts zombies though.
