They are useless as far as I'm concerned. The procedure clearly says to remove the original vent screw and install the speed bleeder. Well as soon as the vent screw was coming off, I was losing brake fluid and it drained the reservoir (which doesn't really hold that much anyway) and gave me this whole mess.

I fully understand how they work, but in this case, I'm not impressed. And besides, something that was beat into my head, 30+ years ago, was to never trust a check valve anyway.
