I forgot to mention... on my carbs I got a turnbuckle that was a bit larger and added some clear tubing to it to protect the aluminum spacer from wearing out.

I used to have a nice SS one from Newbonnevile.com but after removing it to upgrade my carbs I found the friction had worn a heavy groove into it.
