I seem to remember a past post on using harley hub caps on the front wheel of a bonny, has anyone done this to cover the rust.

I thought the hubs were aluminum?

i just can't seem to envision how a hub cap would apply. axle cover yes. but a hubcap?

Think your taking about moon wheel disks? Not advised on the front wheel.

old Triumphs used hub caps and so did the old BMWs. I have a few of the "double wide" Triumph wheels that had the hubcaps on them.

Yes proper terminology would help if I new what to call it. So, on the front wheel forks, where the axle goes through the rim, there's an exposed area that looks like you would stick a giant allen key in it. This is what has surface rust. There are caps that can cover them, apparently used on Harleys.

fwiw, dealers sell oem rubber ones too. Little and small for right and left, fore and aft.
