Marty, the paint is Sherwin Williams. I love the color, it's a GM black silver metallic and we added an extra half gram per 3 ounces of silver metallic, and that's what we think makes that purple side tone pop a little bit more in the light. The black, well, we mixed several different blacks last night, I made one that had blue pearl and silver crystal pearl, but it turned out too blue, and we made one that was black with copper pearl and it was an awesome color but didn't look like it would match the other color too well, and there was another back with silver metallic and pearl but it side toned brown... so in the end it is just a GM black. I wanted it to be subtle, there were a lot of metallic blacks that looked good on their own but when laid over another metallic it lost a lot of the contrast between the two.
If I had to guess when I realized I made the right choice with my base color was after I saw it sprayed out and cleared, it really looks good in person. Once I get it all pinstriped I think the black will look perfect as is, without any additives.
