So, I've been wanting to change up that enormous brake light for quite a while, and had looked at maybe a new Thunderbird or Rocket III taillight, but they weren't really what I wanted. I found a reproduction '38-'39 Lincoln Zephyr light with led on ebay for a decent price and got it.
First I fabbed up a bucket to recess it into the fender

then it was all about laying it out and making the cutout

once I had the depth I wanted, I welded around around and ground down the excess. While it was hot, I was able to pound out most of the indents from the original light.
I have a little bit of filler to do still, but after that, it's off to the booth for primer and paint. I'm really happy with how it's turning out. Had to throw the new light in there to get a visual.

With the lay down plate bracket from Z, it should be a really clean look when complete. I have about 6 hours in it at this point.
