It's amazing how much these distinctive models have risen in value in the last 10 to 15 years. I considered purchasing a nice example at one around 2001, and at that time they were going for around $12,000-14,000USD, and now they're in the $20,000-$25,000 range all day long.

It must be me, but I've never seen the attraction to this bike's styling. Craig Vetter was the featured speaker at one of the Riding into History shows a few years back. I sat through it, had the time to look at at 3 or 4 Hurricanes on the lawn and walked away just; Meh?

They are collectible though and I surely seem to be in the minority.

I was lucky enough to own a Hurricane here in England when they first came out (got a good deal from a mate on an 18 month old)and they were completely different to the UK model Tridents...felt much livelier and more throwaboutable (except of course for pure race exceptions like Norman Hyde's Slippery Sam)plus most modern bikes(80's+90's)owe it a lot to their styling..just my 3 'pennorth of course.

My dealer friend had one on the floor ten years or so ago. I found it interesting, but like most of the later Jap crotch rockets, not my cup of tea. I think at the time he said his was worth 7 grand. I don't know if he sold it or stuck it with the rest of his extensive collection.

I also never saw the attraction of the Huricane, I know its collectible but IMHO the Trident was/is much better looking. Maybe it has to do with me being old as a rock.
