Seriously about to drop the coin on this helmet to replace the Bell I was wearing when I crashed out. Does anyone have one? Very comfortable when I tried it on, and extremely lightweight. Supposed to be one of the quietest helmets available. Comes with pin-lock insert. http://www.shoei-helmets.com/Helmet.aspx?RF-1200&h=24&t=1

If you want a truly quiet helmet then invest in a shuberth.

Well I went and threw down the cash for it today, got the tinted visor with it also, out the door for 512 bucks. Surprisingly cheaper at the Yamaha dealer around the corner from me than I could find online. After I take a few rides with it I'll post a review.

WoW! That much! I usually just duct tape some styrofoam around my head. Course, that's all my head is worth!

yeah well, it would be hard for me to maintain my trophy husband arm candy status if I got my pretty face banged up!

I don't know how many miles you ride a year, Dave, or what you've been wearing up until now. But I bet you ride more in that helmet than you ever have before. Enjoy! Get a Sena headset. Awesome sound from those little speakers, and you can really appreciate them in a quiet helmet like that. Good choice! :

I'm not sure I want music or phone or anything in my helmet. I guess I just need to see how quiet it is in there on the highway. I still have my Scepter pipes that I like to listen to

So Dave, what's the verdict? Was it worth it?

Well done, man. Safe helmets are a good investment.
I'm currently in a RF-1100. It's pretty quiet except I like to ride with the visor open so I get a little whistle. I would like to upgrade to the 1200, but I'm not a fan of the designs this year.

Actually ... the Marquez one is pretty awesome. I just can't convince myself to wear something with a race number.

Sorry dude,I didn't see your post until today. It took a bit for me to get used to the helmet, it was a bit tighter than my last one and the chin bar is closer to my face so it is kind of tricky to get it off after a ride. But, now the foam has broken in a bit to fit my head, and I have to say that I like it quite a bit. It's definitely quieter than my Bell was and the field of vision is a bit bigger. The tint on the visor is not quite as dark as my Bell, but it makes it easier to see at night. The vents work well enough, I can feel some air move across my head at least. Yeah it was expensive, but I can't take money with me if I die...
