I know there have been several people who have switched out to other aftermarket gauges. I see several that are similar but say they are for different ratios, for example 1:1, 2:1 or 2240:60? What does that mean what are our stock ones? Below is kinda what I'm looking for.

Thanks for any help and suggestions.

Well if this mini gauge is electronic, there has to be a pickup mounted somewhere around the motor, transmission or some rotating mass. And even if you find a suitable/feasable/doable locale for the pickup, how's ya gonna calibrate it? Thar's usually dip switches on the back, but they hafta be flipped in a sequence for a myriad of applications and ratios. Sounds like a whole bunch of trouble for a small return to me, but that's just my ramblin'.

P.S. what be wong wit the gauge we has now? people may laff and point and say you have a pin head speedometer, so you should keep the one you have and buy a tool bag and some other stuff instead.

A couple of reasons actually. Originally I was looking for electronic. I've seen Keith's and his electronic, and seems to be more accurate than my stock one, as well as fairly easy to calibrate.
As I've been looking around it seems I've only been able to find mechanical ones that have the dummy lights and a trip meter. I can then get a matching size tach. I'm looking to change tanks eventually, but I like having all the lights and gauges.
...and of course I just think it cleans up the front end and looks cool.

2240:60 is the correct Analog ratio for our 18" fronts. In case you or anybody else is still wondering. With a 120/80-18 tire, my $39 no frills mini speedo is 3 MPH slow at 60 indicated. Close enough for government work.

Thanks Ryk! That's better than my 5 off at 60 on my stock speedo.

These guys have it "goin' on" as far as gauges go: web page Make sure your replacement speedo has a 12 mm threaded fitting to fit up to our OEM drive cable.

since I started running a 120/90 front tire, my speed is very accurate but my odometer is off by 3 miles per hundred
