If this is true, and you have straight through pipes, you will never get those carbs dialed in without major motor motifications. You need a certain amount of back pressure to get anything to run right.




Tried to address this with the comment about edges inside...the TOR shorties have a sort of "donut" at the forward end....it is after that "donut" that the pipes are open. Like I said in the original post, the bike was completely dialed in before the Freak Kit. I'm now trying to reestablish that sweet spot. I had started to research more about the pilot jets and was glad to see that the first few responses confirmed a direction.

I've already experimented a little with adding more backpressure (think big washer inserted between headers and extensions). If new pilot jets don't help solve the challenge, the next step will be to revisit backpressure.
