If you have a dremel with a variable speed i would use that, you will want to make sure you have a good sum of cuting wheels because they will grind down or break, it will take you some time, if you mask withpainters tape and you take your time you should be able to do it with very little chipping of the paint, buy a small can of paint that closely matches your bike color, spray some in the lid and take a small brush and go over the edge. Take your time, you can get a nice look this way. The other way is to finish the edge with black or chrome door trim for cars.
