when i say, its very important to change fluid and bleed your brakes every couple yrs or so. how do i know this you ask?? i had to rebuild my front caliper today. brake was hung up tight the gunk built up so bad it was a real struggle to get the pistons out, air wouldn't do it at all. if i had known it was that bad i would have taken the caliper off the rotor and pumped them out with the fluid. so just a heads up to those who didn't know this. this is the first bike i have had with disc brakes and i am sure there are others here that are disc brake newbies, i mean i have never had to do this to my car with disk brakes so how was i to know it had to be done on the bike

I bleed the brakes of all vehicles about every 3 years whether I am doing a brake job or not. Brake Fluid just goes bad over time.

I've never bled the brakes on my 02. 50 k miles. Hmmmm..., maybe that's why the rear started sticking on my way down to Florida a while back?

Rears are bigger offenders of this. I rebuild mine a few months ago cause it dragged pretty bad. Pulled a pile of crap out of them.

I don't think I ever did anything with brake fluid in a system unless there was a failure that required bleeding.

that stuff absorbs moisture that's why the metal parts get corroded

I never bled my 03's till a cage turned left in front of me, went to lock it up and nothing, sh-t my pants and called for a retrieval. Since then every spring.

once i figured out how to to it properly (what a pain) i have ordered the quick bleeders from eddy and i will do them every year, top them up or change if and when required, time spent is time well spent.

Front brake bleed...replacing front brake line..need longer for handlebar change. Anyone have info on bleeding T100? and info on quick bleeders...size in mm?

Get the air assist bleeder it's the quickest and easiest way to be sure. Otherwise it can be a real pain. I know of guys that let it sit all night with lever tide back and still wasn't really bled done

I have the one way bleeders from Fast Eddy, but to get it done faster, I use shortened carpenters wooden wedges inserted from both sides to keep the pads and caliper cups fully collapsed and do the bleeding with the caliper unattached to the fork. No trapped air bubble to be frustrated with, always a good thing. F. Eddy will make sure he sends you the right parts, he always does, that is, if you order some quick bleeders from him.

Buy those or. Get 5 feet of clear tube at the depot.
Stretch it over the bleeder and crack it open.
put the other end in the res
Pump the brake and fill it as needed
You'll pump a the air into the res and it'll bubble out and you'll recycle the fluid.

Close it and you're done. I can pump and rebleed if u want.

I did my rear this way by my self in 5 min 3 times last week (I had issues with thr brake switch)

Jeremy, a lot of us have had a trapped air bubble issue on the front calipers when bleeding. I have read on here 3-4 ways to deal with it, I found removing the caliper worked for me. Always more than one road to the same town.

Oh yes, I have that is sure in both brakes until I did it this way. But I'm buying some of these bleeders.
Figured id throw that way out there cause I thought it was awesome when it was showed to me.

That is a great way to do it. I have the speed bleeders and they work fine if you have some brake pressure to begin with. If you are starting from scratch you have to start off the old fashioned way until you get some pressure then you can switch to the speed bleeders.
