Well not sure what you determine as close by, but within a day I can be on the coast in the redwoods. Or I can take a different direction and be in warmer desert. Or I can ride out by back yard and be in the mountains. All in all this is not a bad place to live. Well I sure love WHERE I live, but don't care much for the State I live any more.
If I had to move, it might well be the Hill County in Texas. Could see my son more, not pay income taxes and buy property that one can actually afford on a government payroll salary
