Besides, Tucson is too much city for most of these folks...judging by the other thread.
Hope you had fun in Vegas. No ride report?

This one is easy there is a place we vacation called Emerald Isle it is on the outer banks, Swansboro is a small town just outside it, real estate isnt bad its by far my favorite island on the planet and I can sell cars anywhere. When my son graduates from college (he is 11 so I have a long way to go) I will live there. Sunsets my wife my bikes life could not be any better

Hi Al, Don't apologize, just get up here and ride. BigJack likes my favorite convenience road (county road 8). It's about 35 miles long, lots of great turns and curves. Like I said, it's my convenience road - there are better ones. It's pretty nice here. Not as much mountainous terrain as NE Bama, but still a bunch of hills, hollers and ridges. We've got hillbillies and ridgerunners just a holler or two away. Lots of good sweepies and twisties all over the area and up into Tennessee. No dirt roads anywhere, of course there have been no dirt roads in Alabama since the late 50s.
Ride Safe,
Dennis

Easy one. I would live on the open road. Calling where ever I hung my leathers, home. Having Nancy there would just make it better!!!

Chris:
Hurry before it gets too expensive, just like everything else on the coast. In another life back in the '70s I spent a lot of time in Swansboro. It is great. Our charter dive boat use to dock at a marina there. We would sleep on the boat, leave before sunup to dive, then come back and head into Morehead City for fun at night. Still remember the Sanitary Fish Market.
Uh, but I do remember getting lost in Lejeune one night. Not a great thing for a car load of long-haired college punks to do.

Anywhere on North Carolina's Outer Banks, but especially Ocracoke Island, which is accessable only by boat, ferry or airplane. This would be my ocean paradise only a day's ride from my favorite mountain area, the Grayson Highlands/ Mt. Rogers (highest elevation in VA) area in southwest VA near the VA/NC/TN common spot. The nearly alpine countryside there has to be a resting place for angels. Oh, and if the Outer Banks / Ocracoke were unavailable, Emerald Isle, NC ( slightly south of Cape Lookout and Morehead City, NC) would be close enough.

Hey Pat, I've been to Perth, Western OZ. I think that would be a great place. I visited there and Tasmania when I was in The Navy. I think my Choice would be Tasmania, Southern OZ.
Where's my $6 million??

1. Dornie, Scotland-there is a little white cottage for sale there that we want so bad we can taste it. 2. Dillon, Montana-We have always loved that town, and want to move there every time we go through. Moving back to our hometown (Denver) last August after 40 years has been a mixed experience, mostly negative.

Like some others I haven't traveled a great deal but it would have to be someplace warm and be near a large lake or ocean. Even though I love New Hampshire I'm sick of shoveling snow.

Well not sure what you determine as close by, but within a day I can be on the coast in the redwoods. Or I can take a different direction and be in warmer desert. Or I can ride out by back yard and be in the mountains. All in all this is not a bad place to live. Well I sure love WHERE I live, but don't care much for the State I live any more. If I had to move, it might well be the Hill County in Texas. Could see my son more, not pay income taxes and buy property that one can actually afford on a government payroll salary

As much as I rail on the snowbirds here in Tucson for clogging up the streets, they do have the right outlook when it comes to living to suit the climate.
Good point, I grew up making jokes about people that would bail out to the desert after Thanksgiving and return around Easter. I hauled the bike back on a visit with my parent's last summer. Had a great time cruising around the northwoods of WI with a friend of my folks, he's close to 80. They travel to the Phoenix area, but for some reason he doesn't take his motorcycle with him . Maybe the traffic's too nuts.
Where would I live? I don't know, I have been very fortunate to live in places other people travel to on vacation and have had great cycle roads wherever I have been.

I guess it would have to be Cleveland or Cincinnati - That would give me more reason to travel - FARTHER and FREQUENTLY!

I think the foothills of the Smokies: north AL, north GA, west SC and NC, east TN. Love the climate there, 4 seasons but none of them too extreme. Great folks with strong community values. Fantastic local fruits and veggies in season. And of course some of the best roads on the planet.
Haven't figured out which city yet. Small town, but large enough to have a hospital and more than one grocery store. Local teens to do the yard. Small house that doesn't need a lot of maintenance, clean a week's mess in 2 hours or less. Marlene keeps kidding me about my 2-room retirement shack in Maryville, TN. I could do that.
Second choice would be in New Mexico or Arizona. I've had enough of this Gulf Coast humidity. I like the Silver City, NM area, with the mountains nearby.

Wow, sorry to see you still haven't kicked that crack habit, as the delusional state you're in shows...
You actually know of a place where teenagers don't feel that they are ENTITLED to relax the whole summer?(or any other time for that matter!)
