I'm not sure about the 865's, but my 790 does real well with the stock 16/42 setup. Lots of 0ver80 miles, too. Lots of them.
I never changed from the 42 rear, but have run through an 18t, and a 17t front, before I went back to the stock set up. I will stick with the 16/42 from here on out.
