Why not have a thread here as well
I was in first grade Oakwood Elementary. We were released early but I did not understand why. As I walked home from the school grounds I recall seeing the flag at half staff, again not truly understanding the moment in time.
Arriving home my grandmother, my care giver god rest her soul was riveted to the grainy black and white tv in tears.
I grew up faster than I wanted to that day and as the events unfolded in the days ahead, as did the rest of the country.
