I think they are kind of cool looking. They are a little different and certainly not for everyone. Cycle World Article

Hmmm. is this the FB6 rebadged as a Valkyrie? Why Honda ever dropped the Valkyrie is a puzzle. I've looked at the FB6, no doubt it was built for the American market as it has the widest seat I've ever seen on a motorcycle

Upper fairing, caliper cooler covers, some body accents. Yep its an F6B cruiser.
They dropped the Valkyrie because it was a direct competitor to the Gold Wing. They found that it had no direct competition out there for its mass and driveline. The profit they made from the ones that bought the wing when the cruiser was not available offset the ones they lost by not having the bike line.
They are bringing it back because of their really bad idea. they went with 3 Cruisers that nearly look identical with the same 1300cc motor. The word Vanilla comes to mind. Their cruisers are not moving.
A near linear HP to Torque line at 104/110 makes it accelerate like turning up the volume on the radio. I think they will sell a lot of the FB6 and this cruiser.

Correct, their new cruisers were an attempt to play to the OCC chopper crowd. Nothing like being a day late and a dollar short as that ship has sailed.

Welll.... ok.. definitely not my style at all. But, I am sure there will be plenty of people that will like it. The first thing that struck me is that the riding position looks like it feel kind of awkward with all that wide mass of body work up high between your knees.

Definitely a much more modern look than the original Valkyries, which were basically Goldwings stripped of plastic and made to look more "old school conventional". And thus Ian, I can see why you would think this new one is "ugly", you "Old Schooler", you. (...though I have to admit I too have seen a lot prettier motorcycles)

Maybe a Vmax with boobs. Nurse Diesel!
All white would be a good Storm Trooper bike.
But its a Honda. I bet it drives and rides really well.

Ya well what can ya do, some people are just destined to be idiots, besides, its the other side of the country so my shame is somewhat diluted
Not a fan of this bike, maybe because to me it looks more like a ..... uhm...... well not a bike darn it I did have the pleasure of riding one of the original models and it was a decent ride, smooth, quite, enough torque on tap for most and supprisingly nimble, just not something i am into, that Indian however!!!

Draw a horizontal line just above the cylinders - It's a freakin preying mantis. I loved the old valk. I still look for a steal on one from time to time. They're hard to come by. This one is just odd. Back end is a bit reminiscent of those old triumph bath tub mud guards. They didn't break any sales records. I'm thinking this blue mantis won't either. Just opinion.

That was exactly my thought too when I first saw the bike here, Barry.
And gentlemen, once again I'll state my opinion as to why this new Valkyrie isn't meeting with much approval around here is because as riders who appreciate more the "retro" look in motorcycles enough to have purchased a Bonneville America or Speedmaster, it's a given that most of the guys around here wouldn't like this new Honda because it isn't "retro"!
(...well, except of course for that old Triumph Twenty-One "Bathtub" look at the rear as Barry pointed out, anyway)

Strangely, It kind of reminds me of the Ducati Diavel. It's definitely a stripped down looking F6B. I really don't find it all that different from the Rocket III or Guzzi California.

Agreed, the original Valkyries were like classic Goldwings.
And this new Honda should be called the new Rune...ugly.

I think they actually styled this one ok. I can hardly believe it. Of course, I'm SURE it's waaaay too heavy, but at least it doesn't look like crap. Hey, there's your ad campaign: "The Valkyrie: At least it doesn't look like crap!"

750 lbs with that motor would make for a fun ride.

Yep, Just when you thought FUGLY couldn't be exceeded after those Visions, another FACTORY dweeb up's the ante! BUT, in the hands of someone with the talent, these turds can, and DO, turn into some really nice rides. I saw a Rune once, with Lakes style pipes, stripped, modified, that was the Cats Ass! (Once)
