when i lived in mi had a friend that got one of their jackets when in high school in the early 70s and the last time i saw him in 89 he still had it and wore it almost everyday in the winter time. so i guess you can't wear them out
always had a hoodie sweatshirt under it and that pretty much was his winter jacket.
