Been looking at these as winter time riding pants.

On the high Plains of Texas there are many days that one can still ride if dressed properly.

Anyone have any experience with these either working or riding?

Having once flown in to Duluth one winter on business wearing a two piece suit and trench, I can only guess bankers wear these things to work.
It took about two weeks for my nads to descend from my stomach after returning to KC.
In the old days flannel lined pants were called "stadium pants" for obvious reasons, cold football days.
I've got construction friends that swear by Duluth products.

when i lived in mi had a friend that got one of their jackets when in high school in the early 70s and the last time i saw him in 89 he still had it and wore it almost everyday in the winter time. so i guess you can't wear them out always had a hoodie sweatshirt under it and that pretty much was his winter jacket.

I have a pair and hate the color (brown) and they take a while to break in. Also they are warmer than regular jeans and I usually don't wear them during the dog days of summer. I've never tested them, as far as skidding across the road on my butt at 60+ mph, but apparently some folks have and these pants have spared them of some serious road rash... In my opinion there are better options.

Thought about this thread this morning when I read a letter to the editor, printed in the local North Carolina paper. The writer was decrying the overt racism in the use of "Buck Naked" in Duluth's advertising. He then went into great detail about the slave trade and how that term was used. Would have been funny if he wasn't so serious about boycotting the company.

Get a life, huh?

Oh jeez, I don't know about the rest you youz guys but when I hear the term "buck naked" I have visions of a beautiful woman with long flowing Auburn locks running around a field with no clothes.
Hey, I've always liked the opposite sex, guess I'm an odd duck

The writer is channeling his own perceived stereotype of racism, the origins of the word aren't American and have nothing to do with slavery.

The equivalent to these in Florida is a pair of closed toe shoes over flip flops.

I was just in Duluth, and there was still 3 inches of ice on Superior. Thinking of Gordon Lightfoot the entire time.

I'd want these if working on Gitche Gumee. Is the 5th pocket they refer to the condom pocket?
