If anyone needs a custom part making or a modification to an existing part please contact me, blymeylymey@gmail.com I have a Lathe and a Milling machine and 43 years experience as a Machinist. The machines are conventional machines (not CNC). I'm a Dinosaur because i don't run CNC but can still make trick looking parts the "OLD WAY". I am now "medically retired" due to my bike accident of July 25th 2012 and have "time on my hands", so if anyone needs anything machining drop me a line. I have been making the foot peg brackets for a couple of years now, you can see them on my website aacycleproducts.com Des.

I like the idea of the quick detach back rest, what do you get for that? A suggestion about the site, make the pictures so they can be enlarged for a better look.

The QD backrest is what i made for my bike using the Triumph tall style backrest and the extension brackets i made too. I use the "Barebacks" that are made by cycle vision and adapt them to fit our bikes. I then made plugs that i welded into the original Triumph side brackets. I am thinking of making a simpler side plate (flat) as i can't bend it and form it like Triumph do. Just the bare backs cost $130/set (unless i can get them cheaper from cycle vision). So to make the brackets, modify the bare backs and hopefully some profit margin they would probably cost $220/set. Then the customer would supply the backrest. I wouldn't drill any holes in the side plates because unless i know what centers to drill them on. Once the bare backs are on the bike you can remove the backrest in 40 seconds. Then you can clip in the Aluminum Tie Down brackets like i made to fit my bike. After the initial cost of the bare backs you will be able to fit other products i'm thinking of making to clip into them, here's what i have planned for the future.
Quick Detach, Aluminum Tie Down Brackets.
QD Pillion/Passenger Backrest Brackets with or without backrest.
QD Rider Backrest with or without pad.
Anything else anyone wants to clip onto their bike.
