They've tried before and it never works, the V-Rod, Buell, and the recent Sportster XR1200. We'll see how well this is received, it will depend on dealer support. They're used to selling $20,000 touring bikes so these 750s might be seen as just bait-and-switch bikes to get 'em in the door. If I may, I beg to differ. I think it will work. It's marketed as an urban moped as opposed to an entry-level HD (although of course it will serve that purpose too).
I think you may also find guys with the big aircraft carriers getting one just for running "errands" etc. It also has the "revolution" engine ... can't be the same as the Sportster.
