Yeah, that price is totally out of line! But maybe we'll eat our words after the auction.

I offered to swap, even up, and sent him pictures. The arrogant fool didn't even so much as respond. (yet)

While I agree that $105K is an outrageous price for this bike, you guys are evidently not up with the latest market values on Vincent motorcycles, as even "rough" examples of them that need work are easily in the $30K range presently.
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

In that neighborhood, nowhere near the sky high asking price.
Erle no response to me either. Guess he is just looking for that one large score. If you ask huge prices you don't have to sell as many.

Oh I'd say he's a little north of going prices; found a basket case for $30k, three complete bikes for $50k-$85k and a Comet for $25k. He probably saw that a one-of race bike went for £1.4 million at Bohams and thought he might push up the asking price. Somewhere north of $50k is probably right.

Could be he doesn't want to sell it so he set a high enough price to either not sell or he would be OK with it if it did.
