Just got a Corbin saddle and pillion. Since we decided to keep the America, my wife wanted a better pillion experience. My bike came to me with the touring seat which has the spring release mechanism that latches around the pin at about midships (like the gunfighter seat I assume).

I get that I need to remove the stud (shown on the left in photo above) and I assume there I will find a nut plate under it for a seat bolt like the one at the back of the touring seat? I have never see the stock saddle and pillion setup, any guidance would be appreciated.

with that big ass garage you got coming, you better have 3 bikes or it's gonna look empty!

There are 5 bikes and even so, there will be plenty o'room for the beer fridge :-) Corbin sent me the seat bolt I needed, they just tucked it in with the pillion pad (which is counter intuitive, but as soon as I found the bolt, I knew what to do.

You know the Yamaha RSTD, the America, and the CB1100. THe other two are a 77 CB550F basket case that will be Rachel's someday if she wants it and I get it pulled back together and an 82 GS850G (I currently have 2 of the 4 carbs in pieces and ready to clean as soon as I fabricate the perfect screwdriver for the jet that I do not wish to strip deep down in there (but first: we have to buy a house, move, unpack etc.) In the new shop, there will be only the appropriate amount of hurry.
