There's this this basal, innate human response to an emminent threat. The guy had his wife and small child with him- what, if any, were his options? He chose the combination of superior mass and horsepower, and I don't blame him at all for removing his family from danger, real or implied.
The squids were idiots, even giving high speed chase with female passengers on the bikes. I forsee several charges pending.
