Got knocked off my america. Wrote the bike and my shoulder off. Been mainly having operations on it to get me roadworthy again. Currently rebuilding a speedmaster (thus the engraved cases) Only been back on the road for a few days. Currently ridin a 1967 Thruxton replica. Still a very nervous rider as I still feel like every road user is out to kill me! How've you been

Not my cup of tea, but awesome! And just in time for halloween. Very talented workmanship, thanks for the photos.

That's purddy dang cool! Great job there. As Mac said not exactly my style but I really like the idea and the craftmenship. Solid Work. What did ya use to do this? Dremel? Hope the shoulder keeps getting better and glad to hear yer back on the road again.

Long process. The pictures don't show it very well but all of the skulls stand about 3mm proud of the surface. They were sprayed on using plack paint and some airbrush stencils. Then all of the metal around them was carved away with a good ol Dremel. The metal around them then had to be sanded down by hand to get all of the scratches out (quite literally til my fingers bled) then polished. Finally I painted them with black enamel and baked them in the oven fer an hour. Glad people like them!

The designs aren't my cup of tea either but the work is very well done. In the design tech lab at Carleton University there is a 3 axis computer driven router that might be able to do something like that. Less wear and tear on the fingers.

Gotta say the 3-D look of these carvings is amazing, especially considering they're only 3mm deep into the aluminum. Nice work, Simon.
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Pony I was just wondering if you ever got the Speedy up you were working on? If so i would sure like to see some pics of those cover on it. I feel you on the nervousness. Totaled my 04 America at the end of September. I picked up an 05 from Ramsound but am still trying to get over the "everything is out to get me" paranoia. I guess a little nervousness is good...
