I removed the tube and welded the hole shut with a freeze out plug. It changed the exhaust not but did not effect the power at all. I run completely open pipes except for the reducer cone, this may be why there was no loss of power. If you have restrictive pipes losing that passage for exhaust gases may effect power output.
