Now that's a great idea. Don't know how they will enforce the 2 light cycle restriction though. Usually after you sit there that long, a car is bound to come up behind you and trip the light. Seems like it would be better to increase the sensitivity of the mass sensors.

WE have a similar law in Tennessee, I don't recall the 'two cycle" rule part but we can proceed through a red light after coming to a complete stop.

The law makes practical sense cause of the "sensitivity" problem, but it seems like a real can of worms could open up. Another solution; get elected governor of the state and traffic laws don't apply! Here in corn country (Iowa), our governor's limo got caught going in excess of 90 mph on the highway. An off duty officer called it in and he WAS FIRED! He hasn't gotten his job back yet, but HIS boss was fired two weeks ago for being a "dick in general". The Governor? No apologies, no ticket, no problem!

We have the law here in Virginia and I've made use of it several times. There's a left turn lane near my office that I get caught in occasionally.

But if you have to wait two cycles why didn't you go on the first time it cycled? That must apply to "Left on Left Arrow Only" situations.
I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

Yeah, if there's not enough iron mass to trip the sensor the first time, it 'probly won't trip the second, third or tenth time.
I think it would be better to just take off after the first missed cycle.

The last two governors did exactly the same thing but no one made a big deal about it. Funny how it is only an issue NOW. (WARNING: Political comment.)
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Many of the sensors are magnetic. I put a great big magnet on the bottom of my bike and it happens much less often now.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

I put the sidestand down where the wire is embedded in the road, or line the front wheel up with the embedded wire right under the tire.

You have been able to turn left on red in pa for years but it has to be onto a one way street.

in Missouri, we can run a red as long as the following conditions have been met; 1, come to a complete stop. 2, wait a reasonable amount of time. 3, do not impede cross traffic although it never defines "reasonable", I consider it the same as a complete stop

Around here it seems to be waiting through one light and it's obvious it won't change for you. A cop threatened to give me a ticket a few years ago but changed his tune when I told him I'd be happy to see him in court and he could explain before the judge what I was supposed to do.

I wonder how this would all fly with red light cameras these days? Even if you're right, there's a "processing fee" and time off work to fight it...

That's a great point. At some point maybe they will have to put up additional signs (we don't have enough?) for cycle exempt on left turns at certain intersections.

I was severely injured in London in the eighties when gently overtaking ...driver turned out to be a recent arrival from Vietnam who thought a red light meant she could still turn right( we drive on the left here)....sadly I was occupying that space at the time.
Still, the compensation bought me my first sportster.
I took the Road Less Travelled.
Now where the ****** am I?
