I agree that after John leaving us, the site may have lost it's "personality" somewhat, but that has a positive side, as John could, and would, somewhat censor things "his" way, and yes, had his own clique. I find that the current group of moderators let the threads run their own course with less interaction from their own personal beliefs, and step in only when truly needed. Kudos to ALL of them!

Have you noticed that with time, most all the "old guard" step back, or just find newer sites. Not just here, but all sites. I mean, how many times can one get motivated enough to post in the "oil threads, or "tires, or ANY issue pertaining to our bikes. After you've read them all, participated in them all, and learned from them all, what's there to hold your interest? Where as it's ALL NEW to the newby's.
