Some guys swear by drilling the box. It didn't do anything for me except lean out the mix too much. I bought a button plug (from Lowes or H Depot) before I drilled. That way I could easily reseal the hole if it didn't work. It was 1 1/4" or 1 3/8".... don't remember.
