You may want to check the air gap for the ignition sensor. It's kind of a pain in the rear end to do it as you have to remove the right side cover,replace the gasket and change the oil to do it.
You don't have to change the oil to get at the pickup coil. Just leave the bike on it's kick stand and lose only drops of oil, if that.
