I no longer have spark on the right cylinder...

I swapped wires on the back of each ignition coil and swapped plug wires to opposite cylinder. The right cylinder still didnt not fire. So after reading several posts it is most likely the CDI.

Other than what I have done is there another way to test the CDI so that I ensure that is what it is before I order it?

Here is what I know to be fact.

These CDI's can be very temperamental. You may take it off try it on another bike and it may run ok,for a while before it acts up. You may unplug it from your bike, plug it back in and again it may run ok, for a while.
It can be a real problem to diagnose it's failure. Been there, done that, currently doing it again on an 2003, I feel ya brother.
My recommendation is, if your are fairly confident it's bad. Order a Procom from Fasteddy, I think they are $269.00 and do the swap. Throw the OEM on the shelf for an emergency. Another option would be a friend who has the same bike loan you their CDI for a test ride.

Sorry I'm not trying to come across as a smarta$$, but you did rule out it being a bad plug, right?

Will a CDI from a newer fuel injected model work to test on a 2003 with carbs?

Yep plugs are good.....even swapped them side to side while trying to figure things out..

No, CDI s are vin and year specific.

You may want to check the air gap for the ignition sensor. It's kind of a pain in the rear end to do it as you have to remove the right side cover,replace the gasket and change the oil to do it. I can check the book and find out what the gap should be as I forget right now.

I've had 5 igniters on my bike in about 1 1/2 years. One lasted a month, one lasted a year and one lasted a day. We adjusted the pickup coil to 0.8mm, cleaned all the grounds and added a few grounds during this time and nothing seemed to help. Triumph provided everything, no cost to me, up to the last one I got. They said "this is the last free one but you have to pay for , a new pickup coil, new coils and wires and new turn signal switch. I agreed cause it cost me a couple hundred bucks but still less than an igniter. Now my bike, an 04 America, came with an igniter part # 1291100 and that’s what was replaced each time except the last one. The last one was a Speedmaster igniter part # 1292370, I don't know what year that one is for. My igniter problems started in May of 08 and lasted till October of 09 when I paid for the pickup coil, coils, and turn signal switch.
Now for the good part. I don't know what fixed it cause we changed everything at one time, hey it was Triumph's dime so I wasn't about to argue about anything. It has run great to this day, hope I didn't jinx myself.
I wrote this as food for thought so it may help someone with igniter problems.

That's some weird stuff you had going on there, Terry. Must have driven you crazy! Makes me wonder if there was a short somewhere... perhaps in one of the other components you changed. Who knows, but here's hoping you never have to revisit the igniter blues again!

Hmmm, the turn signal switch was replaced ?

I couldn't figer out the turn signal switch either. The dealer didn't know either but said Triumph wanted it changed and as Keith said it was driving me nuts by that time so I was willing to try anything. Oh, I also had a signal canceler on and they took it off. Something goes through that turn signal switch. A ground maybe?
