One of my employees at work was riding his motorcycle to work on Tuesday when he came upon a red light. He stopped at the light and a vehicle came up behind him and ran him over. He was stuck under the vehicle until the fire department arrived to lift the vehicle off of him. He was pretty torn up. He was rushed to the hospital where they had to do emergency surgery. The bad news is that his spine was severed and the doctors give a bleak prognosis that he will probably never walk again. He is still in ICU and it happened near a good trama center (Allegheny General Hospital in PGH). We have not heard what was in the police report yet as to how it happened but people really need to pay attention and watch out for motorcycles. The individual that was run over is in his late 30's and to go from being very active to being stuck in a wheelchair for the rest of his life would be devastating.
