Several years back, a friend of mine was struck in his patrol car a block away from my house. Blew out his radio and all the wiring on his car. Couple of weeks later, same intersection, he was hit aqain. This time it took out all his electronics again, but also blew out one of his tires.

Me, I was sitting on my back step watching a storm. Went inside for ao moment to get a glass of tea and BAM! lightning hit a pine tree about 15' from where I had been sitting, followed a root under the slab (left about a 2" crack) and popped the light bulbs in almost every light in the house.

I still find lightning fascinating, but when I feel the hiar on my arms stand up - I go back inside.
