I am thinking if they are selling product and taking trades they would have their own used bikes to be selling.



My dealer have always done consignments. They would rather a customer that is buying a new bike sell their bike con consignment rather than taking it in on trade. It's safer for the dealership since they don't have to fork out the cash for a bike that might sit for a while, plus it allows the owner of the bike to pretty much set their own price. They do take in some trades, but usually only on bikes they know they can re-sell quickly.
