Well, I can understand the "angst" here gentlemen, however that salesman's only mistakes were that he used the definitive phrase "don't have" and over-specified the action of "passing" by adding the locale of "Interstate" in his little Thunderbird sales pitch.

Because first, almost all "Interstate" roadways possess at least two lanes or more in each direction of travel and thus most often making a "passing" action a needless action, and secondly and as I believe we all REALLY know, our otherwise terrific motorcycles in stock form do not posses the greatest of passing power while traveling along a stretch of only two lane(one in each direction) blacktop.

(...though as always, one CAN usually utilize the limitations of any vehicle to its fullest advantage given enough time and distance)
