Not sure where to post this. It's for a friend of mine in SE Asia who will be doing a marathon ride from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur in 2-3 days. He's also hoping to get an iron butt badge. He's a pretty experienced biker, having ridden quite a bit in SE Asia.

Anyway, he asked me if I know anything about this Air Hawk 2 seat cushion. I know nothing about them and figured I'd ask some of the more experienced folks here.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

I had one for a couple of years. It helped for a while on each long ride but after a while it seemed to simply transfer the pain to different spots. It also makes you ride just a little higher. I used it once on a 5,000 mile in two weeks ride. OK for a day or so but I left it in the bag after that. I'm not sure if it was my Corbin or my butt that got broken in after a few days. Some people love them.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Hi I had an Airhawk 2 seat pad, it did help a bit with the pain but I didn't like the feel. As previously said I felt I was sat on the bike rather than in the bike if you know what I mean. I sold it and had a gel pad put in to the seat which I think worked better, I have now added a sheepskin cover to the seat but Ive yet to go on a long run using both, but I did prefer the gel pad to the Airhawk 2.
