Hi everyone, It isn't even September yet and we are still 332 days away from the 12th edition of the Kootenay Rat Raid but here is the official announcement! July 17 - 20, 2014 we will once again descend upon the New Grand Hotel in Nelson, BC to hang out, catch up with friends and ride some of the best and twisted roads in Western Canada. There will be a tour of the Nelson Brewing Company, a 110+ year old brewery just blocks from the New Grand. We will once again put on an Expedition with funds raised going to charity. This Saturday ride is a bit like a scavenger hunt and all who participated in the first ever in 2013 all said they loved it and learned a lot about the area they didn't know before. The show n' shine will take place late Saturday before the banquet Saturday night. There is limited room at the banquet so make sure you register early so you don't miss out! I know a lot of you were hoping I would have the online registration up and running. Unfortunately that isn't going to happen just yet. Good news though registration for 2015 should have an option online. Thank you for your patience while I sort through that and I appreciate you hanging in there with the old fashioned mail in for one more year! All information and the downloadable registration form can be found on www.kootenayratraid.com. If you have specific questions or suggestions, please click on the contact us page and email me directly to ensure a prompt response! On the top right corner of our website there are hot buttons for Facebook and Twitter! We would love to have you join in on those communities as well. I use Twitter to run the countdown. His son JR died tragically while taking part in a super bike race in Quebec this past weekend. Got a fancy email from Chris Ellis of Triumph Canada today! He received the thank you package from last year's Raid and loved the event T! He said the feedback from the dealers was awesome so he was happy to hear we had a successful event! Pretty cool! I think he now trusts me!

Question: Why don't you all just move out here so you can ride these roads at will? I was just up and over the Kaslo/New Denver highway today... SPECTACULAR!

Mike, you do have the option to scan your registration and email it in if you send an email transfer for the fee. If you do, please use the following for the email money transfer: Email - liane@kootenayratraid.compasscode - 2014Raid Remember to also scan the registration form and email it to the same email so I have it on file and can match it up with your email money transfer. The roads are great but it really is about seeing friend we don't get to see as often (for Karen and I). If we lived there we prob couldn't stand any of you

I am really looking forward to spending my days and nights catching up with as many of you as possible. It's such a great time to come together and just have a great time! Looking forward to seeing all the renos at the hotel as well. I believe the banquet room has been renovated...perhaps with better air flow! haha

Keith...Room on Wednesday for a wayward traveler? I was going to do the whole ride Thursday, but I think I may get to Seattle Tuesday and come across Wednesday(possible with Z and Karen) then was thinking of heading to your place. Then heading to my room on Thursday.
