Crud! Ammo shortage is real around here. I can't get simple stuff like 22 longs and 30/30s for my lever action rifle. No big deal, cause I don't shoot much anyway. Still, irritating. Dumba** government paranoid idiots. I still can't believe that the ammo companies aren't ramping up to fill the demand for the crazies.

In Kentucky it was eased up a little on 9mm and other pistol rounds but .22's are still hard to get.

Whenever I'm in my local Walmart, I check the ammo case, just in case... The other day they had just had a shippment the night before. They only sell from 9am to 10pm. After waiting 10min for them to start, I got 3 boxes of 50 Winchester 45ACP for $22 each! (3 boxes is their limit per customer. That was all they got in that shipment anyway) 15min later they were all sold out exept for shotgun shells & things like 7mm rifle.

WalMart shelves are MT of all 22 and handgun ammo. Prices for 9mm, when you can find them have gone from 12.50 to 17.50 per box of 50... reminds me of the 'gas shortage' of the 70s, not really a shortage, they just don't want you to have it. roll my own on a few of the other calibers. 9 mm just to small and used to be cheap.

Roll your own, the components are available if you look. Even 22s are out there on the internet.

I go by Wallyworld every evening. If they have ammo in .38spl .380, 9mm, or .45acp at reasonable prices I buy all they will let me have. Currently stocked up pretty good on plinking stuff but not much SD product.

I was doing Wally too for a while, but the sporting goods store (Academy, in my case) folks now let us know what day their next shipment is coming in and then it's just a case of being at the door at opening time. Three box limit.
I got lucky a couple of months ago. I stopped at a Wally in North Carolina and they had .22 HP in stock. I walked away with three boxes of 1000 rounds each. Surprised the heck out of me. Not only that they had it, but in such large quantity.
From what I've read, the ammo companies have upped production - to the point they can without suffering quality issues, but the panic is just causing insatiable demand. "They" say it seems to be slowing now.

Lost a whole shipment of RPG's when the perimeter sensors set off the driveway Claymores. Now I have 22 dead burros between the house and the street.

Just order online. No lines cheap price points and with in ten days you have your ammo. You can order straight from Winchester. I know its nuts all these guys buying up every round they can get, but this happens every time you friendly neighborhood politicos decide to start talking control and limitation. Remember when ole slick did the same thing in the 90s. It was as nuts as it is now. Another good source is gun shops. If you have shooting specialty shops they have it or will order it for ya.

Got a laugh out of that one Mac! I wonder if the ammo companies are in league with the politicans?Maybe the politicans have ammo company stock. The politicans spread a bit of "gun laws"fear around every now and then so ammo sales go through the roof !

Well, it got worse the other day. There's no hosing those thing into the drain.
I actually like to shoot and I'm pretty good, though it hasn't fit into my schedule in a while. I've seen all sides of the issue in my life. Everything in moderation.

Because he was a Dick (if you're referring to Nixon or course).

Ummmm.....thats a bit of a self explainatory joke there. You could replace the word ammo with anyother thing and the joke is still. The man aint giving up any product X even for sex with a beautiful woman. But rather the opposite he would have sex with her for some of her product X.
Wow jokes just aint funny if ya gotta splain em.
