over here in California I use Motul Chain Cleaner and Motul Chain Lube. I clean the chain down with a grunge brush and the cleaner first. Make sure she is nice and clean. Then I take the bike around the block to warm up the chain and cause any excess cleaner to have time to evaporate off. I apply the Chain Lube to the chain and let it sit for about an hour. I've been told by some pros and by a Motul rep its good to warm the chain up and let the cleaner evaporate so the chain lube better adheres and and really get sticky. Not that it isn't already. It makes sense though.
I preform this action every 500 miles and to date I have 11,000 miles on my chain and its plenty well taken care of.
Ride hard, ride fast, see the road in front of you and never worry about what is behind, unless you are checking on your buddy.
